That idea inspired us more than 100 years ago, when we began building connections across Kainuu and Upper Savonia. We built them so we could reach the world, and so the world could reach us.
It still guides us today. It’s why our high-speed fibre optic network already covers a large part of the region, and why we continue to expand it.

Kaisanet at a glance
Kaisanet is a connection expert, providing connections and services across the Kainuu and Upper Savonia regions, and a member of the Finnet Association.
Our roots go back more than 130 years through our owners, Kainuun Puhelinosuuskunta (KPO) and Puhelinosuuskunta IPY. Kaisanet’s current operations began in 2011, and since then we have become known for our wide range of communications services, especially our fibre-based broadband solutions.
Broadband services, including TV services, are Kaisanet’s main driver of growth. At the end of 2024, the total number of consumer and business connections was around 50,000.
At the beginning of 2022, IT services for businesses were consolidated into the subsidiary DataEnter Oy, which reported revenue of €11.3 million in 2024.
We invest heavily in regional development and in expanding our fibre optic network. Between 2022 and 2025, this included an investment programme of €20 million.
Our financial foundation is strong: in 2024, the equity ratio was 64.9%.
